Orange County Superior Court: Rules and Forms - Invitation to Comment - Spring 2025

The Rules and Forms Committee of the Superior Court of California, County of Orange, has proposed revisions to the Local Rules of Court. Pursuant to California Rules of Court, rule 10.613, the Court invites you to comment on the following proposed changes to the local rule. If approved, the proposed changes will be effective July 1, 2025.

Revised Local Rule 382Tentative Rulings Procedure. Proposed revisions to Local Rule 382 were made to reflect Cal. Rules of Court, rule 3.1308 – to eliminate the requirement to make all tentative rulings available by telephone for courts that offer tentative rulings in civil law and motion matters.

Revised Local Rule 601.13Requests for Ex Parte Order. Proposed revisions to Local Rule 601.13 were made to inform parties that the new coversheet must be submitted when requesting ex parte orders on petition.

New Local Rule 601.24Master Calendar Trial Date. Proposed new Local Rule 601.24 was created to reflect a new mandatory local form which is used to ensure parties are fully prepared for trial and that the court has all necessary information to efficiently manage the case.

Revised Local Rule 611.03Appointment of General Conservator. Proposed revisions to Local Rule 611.03 were made to require the use of GC-335A, Everyday Activities Attachment to Confidential Capacity Assessment and Declaration – Probate Conservatorship, in lieu of Local Form L-3016.

Revised Local Rule 611.06Capacity to Give Informed Consent for Medical Treatment. Proposed revisions to Local Rule 611.06 were made due to substantial revisions on Judicial Council Form GC-335 and Local Form L-3010 being revoked effective July 1, 2025.

Revised Local Rule 705Requests for Order. Proposed revisions to Local Rule 705 were made due to an oversight of an incorrect form number and form name listed.

Revised Local Rule 710Contested Judgment Procedures. Proposed revisions to Local Rule 710 were made to be consistent with current business practice since all other Family Law local rules were revised last year.

New Local Rule 710.1Default Judgment Procedures. Proposed new Local Rule 710.1 was created to align with the current Family Law business standards.

New Local Rule 710.2Uncontested Judgment Procedures. Proposed new Local Rule 710.2 was created to align with the current Family Law business standards.

The proposed revisions and invitation to comment are posted on the Superior Court’s website at Invitation to Comment.

All comments concerning a proposed rule must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2025.
