Message Regarding the Los Angeles Fires

In recent days, we have all watched with deep concern and sorrow as devastating fires have swept through Los Angeles and surrounding areas. The impact on our neighbors in Los Angeles County has been profound, with countless families, businesses, and communities affected by these tragic events.

As members of the legal community, we recognize that the challenges faced by those affected extend beyond the immediate devastation. The road to recovery—legally, financially, and emotionally—will be long and complex. The Orange County Bar Association stands in solidarity with our colleagues and communities in Los Angeles County during this difficult time.

We have been in contact with the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Beverly Hills Bar Association to express our support and to offer assistance where it is needed most. Additionally, we are coordinating with our courts and legal aid organizations to explore ways we can collectively provide meaningful aid to those impacted by the fires.

To that end, we encourage you to review and share the resources available to those affected by these fires. The Los Angeles County Bar has compiled a list of efforts and organizations offering support, which can be accessed by clicking here. These include court closures and resources on assistance for housing, legal aid, and other critical services.

We understand that the needs of those affected will not end when the fires are extinguished. In the months and years to come, individuals and communities will continue to require legal support to navigate the aftermath—whether through insurance claims, rebuilding efforts, or other recovery processes. As a bar association, we are committed to being a source of strength and advocacy during this journey.

Thank you for your compassion and for embodying the values that define our profession. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in supporting our neighbors in their time of need.
