SMALL CLAIMS ELECTRONIC EVIDENCE
In April 2021, the Superior Court of California, County of Orange successfully piloted a project for use of an electronic evidence portal in designated courtrooms. The electronic evidence portal was used in small claims courtrooms to promote greater access to justice, promote court efficiency, enhance evidence management practice, and facilitate remote hearings.
For small claims cases heard between April 5, 2021 to March 6, 2022, documents uploaded by the parties to the electronic evidence portal remain in the portal. I hereby order that any exhibits uploaded to the electronic evidence portal for small claims proceedings which were concluded between April 5, 2021 through March 6, 2022 to be purged from the portal 30 days from the date of this order. Parties who wish to retain copies have 30 days from the date of this order to log into the portal to download any previously uploaded exhibits.
