The OCBA is pleased to share that OCBA members Ariana Hawbecker and John Littrell were named the newest partners of Bienert, Miller & Katzman, PLC, and Kevin Grochow joins BMK as an associate.
Hawbecker focuses her practice on both commercial litigation and white collar criminal defense. Her most recent trial efforts helped BMK garner a California Top 100 Verdict in 2016 on behalf of an injured electrician. Hawbecker is a former Deputy District Attorney and, prior to joining the firm, was associated with Donahue Gallagher Woods LLP and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. She received her J.D. from University of California, Berkeley and her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University.
Littrell joins the firm as a partner after serving 12 years at the Federal Public Defender's Office for the Central District of California. Most recently, he served as Chief of the Trial Unit, where he supervised 30 deputy public defenders. Before joining the Federal Public Defender's Office, Littrell served as a law clerk to Judge A. Wallace Tashima of the Ninth Circuit and practiced at Morrison & Foerster LLP. He also taught Evidence for Trial Lawyers as an adjunct professor at Loyola Law School. Littrell received his J.D. from University of California, Los Angeles School of Law in 2002, and received his undergraduate degree from University of California, Santa Cruz.
Grochow joins the firm as an associate, bringing with him a wide array of experience in complex civil litigation, commercial and business litigation, and healthcare and employment defense. Grochow is a 2012 cum laude graduate of Chapman University Fowler School of Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Chapman Law Review. Grochow received his undergraduate degree from University of California, Irvine.
