The Orange County Bar Association develops opportunities for attorneys in Orange County to volunteer their legal expertise to increase access to justice. In addition to soliciting volunteers for the Public Law Center, current attorney volunteer opportunities include:
Bankruptcy Project Provide trainings for attorneys who want to volunteer at a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Clinic. These clinics help low-income pro se debtors understand their rights regarding reaffirmation agreements and Chapter 7 filings.
Veterans Legal Institute With the return of so many veterans from combat, there has been a surge in discharge upgrade requests. Veterans who separate from the military with a less than honorable characterization can petition the appropriate agency for an upgrade so they can access their benefits, restore their self confidence and become more employable. VLI assists veterans who suffer from Military Sexual Trauma and mental health illnesses like Post Traumatic Stress or Traumatic Brain Injury, restore their characterization of discharge through pro bono attorneys like you.
