NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Jan. 15, 2013—The Orange County Bar Association (OCBA) will install Wayne R. Gross as OCBA President during its 2013 OCBA Judges’ Night and Annual Meeting, which will be held Thursday, January 17, 2013, at the Irvine Marriott in Irvine (please see the attached cover story from Orange County Lawyer magazine’s January 2013 issue).
A graduate of the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, Gross is a litigation shareholder of Greenberg Traurig LLP, where he focuses on trial practice, complex civil litigation, and white collar defense. He previously served as Chief of the Orange County U.S. Attorney’s Office and prosecuted cases of national and international significance. In addition to his service on the OCBA’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors, Gross has served on the Boards of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, the Orange County Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and Constitutional Rights Foundation, Orange County. He has also taught at Loyola Law School and Chapman University School of Law as an Adjunct Professor. Gross has been listed by The Best Lawyers in America for Criminal and White Collar Defense from 2011 to 2013, and was recognized by the Daily Journal, The Recorder, and Southern California Super Lawyers magazine in 2011.
Hon. William W. Bedsworth of the California Court of Appeal, Fourth District, Division Three, will install Gross along with the rest of the 2013 OCBA Officers, Directors, and Charitable Fund Directors during Judges’ Night, the Association’s largest annual event. A special highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Franklin G. West Award to Hon. Francisco F. Firmat of the Orange County Superior Court.
“Bienert, Miller & Katzman, APLC’s Thomas H. Bienert, Jr., and Ashleigh E. Aitken of Aitken Aitken Cohn will assume the roles of President-Elect and Treasurer, respectively, as newly-elected Todd G. Friedland of Stephens Friedland LLP is sworn in as OCBA Secretary.
