Section Meetings
A major benefit of OCBA section membership is earning MCLE credit. Most of the 26 OCBA sections meet monthly during lunch and provide 1 hour MCLE credit programs to update members on developments in specific areas of law. Each section offers opportunities for professional growth, networking with peers and discounted CLE for its members. Depending on availability, lunch meals may be offered at an additional cost.

Seminars
OCBA offers a variety of seminars annually. Care is taken to provide adequate hours in the State Bar required areas of Ethics, Prevention and Detection Competence, Wellness Competence, Implicit Bias, Elimination of Bias, Technology in the Practice of Law, Civility as well as Legal Specialization credit. The programs provide three to eight hours of MCLE credit and are held at various local venues. The speakers include some of the most prestigious attorneys and judges in the county (and sometimes in the state or country) in the various areas of law.
Programs are held to keep OCBA members informed of changing laws, interesting “hot” topics, and cross-over areas of the law.
Each OCBA CLE program is approved for Minimum Continuing Legal Education Credit by the State Bar of California in the number of hours stated in the respective program description, as appropriate to the content of the activity. OCBA certifies that each CLE activity conforms to the standards for approved education activities prescribed by the rules and regulations of the State Bar of California governing MCLE.
