The OCBA is pleased to share that 4th District Court of Appeal Associate Justice William Bedsworth, was honored as the recipient of the newly created civility award named for the justice.

“Getting the award is just amazing. Have them name it after me? I don’t have words for that,” Bedsworth said.

The William W. Bedsworth Judicial Civility Award is the chapter’s highest honor for justices and judges. Bedsworth has long championed civility in the legal profession in his written opinions. His dedication off the bench is what led the chapter’s board of directors to create the award in his name. Bedsworth was honored in a surprise ceremony at the chapter’s annual conference at the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort in Hawaii.
